─ THE METHOD

Commando Communication.

A simple three-step framework Sean developed over 40 years in relationships and communication, simplified to the point where you can use it in your next conversation.

It draws on the Gottman Method, Nonviolent Communication and the Enneagram. Three traditions, one disciplined practice. The method works in a boardroom and at a kitchen table because the question underneath is the same: how do you get people who have stopped listening to each other to listen again?

i.

Set up for safety

Before the words come the conditions. You learn to invite conversation in a way that lowers the other person's defences before you have said anything difficult. Most people skip this step. It is the one that decides the rest.

ii.

Share without blame.

Simple "I feel" language, not a script, but a shape. A way to say what is true without putting the other person on trial. Needs named, not accusations. This is where safety and trust continues to build

iii.

Close with appreciation.

End in a way that makes the other person want to do it again. Not flattery, specific acknowledgement. When appreciation is expressed for someone else's listening, they feel good about it and choose to keep doing it. This is how connection compounds.
